Description: The Director of Web and Creative Services reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and oversees the creative production operation for the department. The Marketing and Communications Department at Millersville services the entire university’s marketing needs with a focus on revenue generating initiatives. The department’s top clients are undergraduate and graduate admissions, advancement and the president’s office. This position manages the creative team (design, video, photography, web) and manages the production of all open jobs within the department. This position provides project management oversight and creative direction for all design projects and consults with clients to develop creative solutions. Additionally, this position will manage their own portfolio of design responsibilities.
This position, along with the support of a web specialist, also oversees the design aspects of the university’s website and directs content on the homepage, several other key pages, and provides marketing-related consulting support to university CMS users to optimize and unify the site.
Required: Bachelor’s degree; 5 years recent professional design experience; 2 years’ experience planning, developing and executing a results-oriented web strategy; 3 years’ experience managing/supervising a staff of graphic designers; Experience providing creative direction for video and photography production;
Knowledge of: Software including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CMS and Print Processes; Project management experience; Evidence of commitment to equity and diversity; Successful portfolio review; Successful interview and background checks: Act 34; Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance); and Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, website development or related area; Master’s degree; Social media design work; Experience using: Video software such as Final Cut Pro, WordPress and Flash; Knowledge of HTML.
