Millersville University is looking for a Social Media Editor

The Social Media Editor balances a high level of writing, content creation and editing with a savvy knowledge of social media monitoring, posting and engagement on a variety of platforms. The Social Media Editor is able to produce high-quality social media posts and responses, with photographs and videos, to support University-wide and unit-specific goals. The Social Media Editor is comfortable managing various social media platforms and audiences, including prospective and current students, faculty/staff, alumni, parents, donors and community members. This experienced social media content creator develops posts and campaigns for marketing and public relations efforts, among others, to help advance Millersville University’s (MU) goals and image.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of responsible experience in areas of social media and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrable experience interviewing, writing and editing copy.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing social media trends to create strategic social media plans.
  • Skill in identifying the correct issues to be communicated, the correct audience, the correct vehicle and timing.
  • Demonstrated experience with photography and videography.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team.

  • Successful interview and three background checks: Act 34; Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance); and Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting).
