Community Relations Intern — Hershey Office
Gift of Life Donor Program, serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is responsible for recovering and distributing organs and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplants.
We have a satellite office located at 867 Fishburn Road, Hershey, PA. We are looking for an intern at that location. This is a part-time (20 hours weekly) paid internship experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student majoring in Public Relations to support the program’s numerous ongoing projects designed to increase public understanding of organ donation and transplantation in the general public and multi-cultural audiences.
The intern will coordinate and attend special events such as baseball games, street fairs, health fairs and community events; help maintain database and community/media contact lists; restock public education materials as needed.
We are looking for college students in their Junior or Senior year with excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills; ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers; experience in working in a professional office environment; ability to lift 30 lbs. and set up displays and tables as required; ability to travel and work throughout the Gift of Life service area for special events/projects; ability to work evenings and weekends as required; valid driver’s license and automobile required; public speaking and community outreach experience preferred; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint required; ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
