Accredited in Public Relations Preparation
Looking to attain APR accreditation? Central Pa. Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) will host four full-day APR coaching sessions at Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pa. on Feb. 9, 23 and March 9, 23, 2013.
The Accreditation Program is the only national post-graduate certification program in public relations. It demonstrates commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct in the public relations profession. APR tests a practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of the field in areas such as communication theory, research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
The four Saturday coaching sessions will include the reasons a public relations professional would want their APR, how to prepare for the entire process, recommendations for the most helpful books, how to prepare for a peer review, studying the recommended Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) recommended by PRSA and how to prepare a career portfolio.
Central Pa. PRSA has one of the highest concentrations of APRs per member across the nation. Ten of its APR members have volunteered as coaches to aid the candidates in attaining APR. Sessions will cost $55 for PRSA members and $75 for non-members.
