Congratulations to our chapter’s newest APR!

Congratulations to Jennifer R. Collins, APR, the most recent Central PA chapter member to earn Accreditation in Public Relations.

Jennifer, senior communications specialist for The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), has more than 15 years of experience developing, managing and executing strategic public relations programs.

Among Jennifer’s many responsibilities at HAP, she manages, a grassroots advocacy blog that supports the education and advocacy needs of Pennsylvania’s hospital community and winner of a PRSA Central PA Chapter Keystone Award. She also plays a key role in many of HAP’s high-profile public relations efforts, such its Health Care Personnel Universal Influenza Vaccination Campaign in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and other stakeholders, along with writing and producing the association’s annual hospital quality report and community and economic impact report.

Jennifer holds a master of science in communication studies and a bachelor of arts in communication/journalism, both from Shippensburg University.

The APR credential signifies a public relations practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application; establishes advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation; and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. The skills acquired through the accreditation process are applicable to any industry or practice area.
