Congratulations to Michelle Tiemeyer, communications specialist, principal for BAE Systems Inc. in York and a Public Affairs Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, who recently earned Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)!
 
The APR credential is a mark of distinction, certifying a distinct level of expertise and a dedication to the highest standards of public relations practice and ethics.

Michelle has more than 15 years of experience providing strategic communication within the defense, government and entertainment industries.
 
Prior to her position at BAE Systems, she served on active-duty orders with the U.S. Navy Pacific Submarine Force for two and half years where she developed and executed an award-winning strategic communications plan for the U.S. Navy’s Ice Exercise 2020 (ICEX) and created a crisis response plan for Navy Reserve members.
 
Michelle was named the Thompson-Ravitz Junior Public Affairs Officer of the Year in 2020.
 
She holds a B.A. in Public Relations Journalism from the University of North Texas, a M.A. in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University and is currently working on an M.A. in Communications at Johns Hopkins University.
