Meet Alysha Davis, Communications and Public Service Lead

Alysha Davis has been a member of PRSA since 2018 and volunteers with the Central PA Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Alysha works at Lovell Communications, a strategic public relations, marketing and crisis communications firm specializing in health care, where she develops strategies to advance clients’ thought leadership. Known as a “Swiss army knife” in PR, marketing, and media, Alysha enjoys “putting the puzzle together” to solve communications challenges. A particularly skilled writer and editor, she previously held several positions at Geisinger and was a journalist at Times-Shamrock Communications in Wilkes-Barre and at Link, a free publication of The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk.

A 1988 graduate of Luzerne County Head Start, she is an advocate for early childhood education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned the prestigious Temple Diamond Award and completed a reporting internship at the Philadelphia Daily News.

While studying political journalism at Georgetown University, she completed an internship at the Bureau of National Affairs in Washington, D.C. She is a scholar of the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, which launched her love of alliteration with a copy-editing internship at the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

She is pursuing a master’s degree in Public Relations from Ball State University. She is a member of the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals and Women’s networks.

Alysha lives with her husband, two sons, a fluffy black cat, and two loud terriers in Wilkes-Barre. She and her family are preparing to move to the Benton area this fall. She’s looking forward to having a window view of her neighbors: trees and deer. Alysha enjoys a good book with hot tea, home improvement projects, talking with strangers, and gardening. A recovering perfectionist, she drives a motorcycle and a Jeep to kick up some mud.
