Ángela joined the chapter’s leadership as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair in 2018. 

Ángela is a founder, educator, strategist, champagne-lover, and soon-to-be doctor in philosophy. She possesses over nine years of international experience in strategy, marketing, and public relations. Through her journey, she has developed digital strategy, cross-channel content marketing initiatives, online and offline marketing campaigns, voter registration programs and events in multiple industries ranging from tourism, sports, shopping malls and luxury brands, to nonprofits and government agencies. Her diverse background and expertise in strategic media relations, social media, branding, and crisis management, makes her a great partner to work with. Through Capeles Agency, her boutique agency, she helps create strategy-driven experiences for brands.  

Her passion for asking questions led her to pursue a graduate education from The Pennsylvania State University, where she also teaches in the School of Humanities. Most of her research and teaching opportunities focus on social equity through media, gender, race, and ethnicity studies. 

Ángela has developed marketing campaigns and supported public relations efforts for the following brands: PCADV, thSheetz, UGI, Pennsylvania Department of State, HackerOne, Pennsylvania Turnpike, Cape Privacy, Functional Movement Systems, American Express, Carolina Herrera, Taubman Centers, International Hospitality Enterprises, Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa, Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort, Doubletree by Hilton San Juan, Hotel El Convento, La Concha A Renaissance Resort, The Mall of San Juan, PGA Tour, Sea Star Line, Puerto Rico Tourism Company, and Combate Global.  Outside of work, Ángela enjoys salsa dancing, traveling, and exploring different cuisines. Originally from Puerto Rico, Ángela currently resides in Mechanicsburg, PA.
