I am honored to serve as the President of our esteemed chapter this year. I am privileged to work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who, despite their personal and professional commitments, contribute significantly to our chapter.

Our collective goal is to enhance the value of your membership. We aim to achieve this by organizing local professional development opportunities and networking events and highlighting resources available at the national level. We are all working to build upon the legacy of past chapter presidents by listening to your feedback, identifying chapter sponsors to strengthen our future events, supporting local university PRSSA chapters, upholding high ethical standards, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.

While we do not have an event scheduled for February, we are in the process of facilitating our virtual boot camp for those interested in pursuing their Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credentials throughout February and March. Looking ahead, we have an exciting array of events and initiatives planned on topics to tease like creating a support network to lead a more fulfilling life, AI in business, and more. I encourage you to stay informed by signing up for email communications, subscribing to our LinkedIn newsletter, and following us on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Our chapter, which boasts over 100 members across Central Pennsylvania, is a testament to the continued commitment of local professionals looking to connect, give back to others and stay informed on best practices. I urge you to actively participate in our chapter this year, to further your career and contribute to our PR community. If you are interested in joining one of our committees like awards program planning or general programming planning, please don’t hesitate to connect with us.

I look forward to connecting with many of you at our upcoming events throughout the year. I am always more than happy to be a resource for anyone interested in getting more involved or who has any questions or concerns to share.

Sincerely,

Maggi Barton
